	Gembe ... have just started to play the djembe, and its not as easy as it looks. Being a beginner I chose a synthetic head, since the cold wet British weather tends to play havoc with natural skin heads. The two djembe I own I purchased from ebay. They were bargains, however it is worth remembering that these drums are heavy so the postage costs can be very high. Drums are often available second-hand, and I do recommend you chose a synthetic head if you are a beginner like me. In particular I recommend the Remo range of drums (www.remo.com). 	Yamaha DD-55 ... been a while since I've written a review, and the DD55 is one such surprising product worthy of a praising one as it's one that I would like to discuss with many people, without boring the uninterested. Thus I'm sparked to write. Digital percussion (or electronic drum kits, to be less snobby) has existed in many forms in the last few decades, most notably in late disco and early eighties pop which didn't do much for the longevity of it. 	Drum Kits in general ... Let's get one thing straight here, I am by no means an experienced or good drummer (in the grand scheme of things) having played for only one month (todays date 23/03/03). This review is about the drum kit I am using, a Stagg/Pulse (same brand, sometimes different labelling on drums, mine are Stagg) PAO-L 20. This kit is excellent value for money. It comes, like most beginners kits, with a snare (wooden), 20" bass, and 3 toms. The drums seem to have a good finish and worksmanship looks good, especially when you consider the price.
