Advantages: Looks, Weight, Strength, Easy on hands, Cheaper in the long run
Disadvantages: Initial cost, Weight
I've been using these sticks on and off for over six years now. They seemed heavy to me when i first got them, but compared to my Thomas Lang ones they are cocktail sticks.
I'm a hard hitter and have never broken a pair in six years, i have changed the tips twice and the sleeves 4 times, the sleeves cost about £2.50 a pair from my local music shop. So in total i've paid about £40 in six years on sticks. Thats realllllly cheap!
The sticks have nylon tips that can be replaced if they get damaged. As for sound their weight aids power on the drums, but you really notice how good they are when using them on cymbals, the slice cleanly and easily, and Ahead claim they are better for your expensive cymbals than wood sticks, and i do believe it. They don't mark the cymbals at all. They only come in one colour and thats black, with the white nylon tip.
Summary: Great durable sticks that last forever!

- 01/06/06 might have been nice if you had compared them to the other sticks in the Ahead range, the Peter Criss, the Tommy Lee or the Rick Allen endorsed specification. Also price and availability might be nice and things like balance and weight would be of interest to prospective users. |

- 01/06/06 More description about the sticks themselves would help - their performance, their sound etc.... Also a description of what they look like, do they come in various colours etc... Let me know if you update and I will re-rate @:-) |
