Liteon eSAU108 ... is a very useful device in todays market. A lot of people are buying netbooks, for their portability and of course they do not have an optical drive. It is all fair enough expecting you to download everything, but there comes a time when you just need a CD or DVD reader to install something, or a writer to backup some files. The eSAU108 is a very attractive device, available in black, pearl white, red or blue. It does not come with a power supply, it is powered through the USB connection. Usually, these things can run into many hundreds and even thosands of pounds. This little beauty though, only cost £250, excluding VAT! It does exactly the same job as those more expensive machines, and for the most part it does it very well. It s extremely simple to use - the display panel is really the brains of the machine - it houses many (around 12) IDE connectors which link each DVD burner together, and also one SATA connector with which you can connect a hard drive to store images. Panasonic VW-BN1E-S ... was struggling for ages to record a DVD with my laptop (it got halfway through the recording process and then just crashed). Looking online recommended getting a standalone DVD burner and after asking my local electronics store I bought the Panasonic VW-BN1E-S. This DVD burner is a joy to use and is incredibly quick. It connects to your digital camcorder using the supplied USB lead. Once connected, use your camera s display to connect to the burner, select your scenes and press record.
