      Highly Recommended

I recently wanted an external DVD Rewriteable drive to connect to my computer and ended up choosing this one. It's from Argos and costs £40 which is one of the lowest prices around for this kind of equipment. I specifically wanted an external drive like this one that can be connected via a USB port so I didn't have to fiddle with things inside my PC that I know very little about.

Setting this up couldn't have been easier. I unpacked it from the box, plugged in the power, put the USB lead into the drive and my computer and switched it on. My computer (which runs Vista) automatically detected the drive and installed all the software automatically in about two minutes. If I hadn't been able to plug and play, there was a disc included in my box for installing the drivers from.

This was up an running in under five minutes from opening the box. I was able to burn a DVD instantly and found that this wasn't too noisy and that the process was done with quite quickly. It probably took only about ten minutes to burn a full film-length DVD with this.

This drive will burn and play DVDs as well as CDs so can be used with all the usual discs like DVD-R, DVD+R, CD+R etc and providing the discs allow it, the drive will happily re-write to discs too. This is a great add-on for PCs that only have a built in CD Rewriteable drive as like my computer, a lot will only read DVDs and not write to them as standard.
