This is my favourite DVD burner drive to use in my homebuild computers simply because it is so quiet! It is one of the quietest disc drives I have come across.

The drive looks like any other DVD drive, fits nicely into the 5.25'' expansion slot of a pc case and looks the part. The quiet running is its strong point, even when burning DVDs the drive is very quiet. An LG DVD-ROM drive that I own sounds like a jet taking off so in comparison, this NEC drive is amazing.

If features the ability to read and burn to pretty much any DVD format including dual layer disc. I have never once had any issue with the final quality of a disc burned using this drive, both movie DVDs and music CDs. No matter how hard you try I don't think you can fault this drive one bit.

I bought the drive as an OEM version from ebuyer.com at a fantastic price. Realistically you don't need the software and user manual that is left out of the OEM version so you save yourself a nice bit of cash.

Summary: The most quiet DVD drive I have ever come across!
