Pioneer DVR 105 ... Liquid Crystal tilt mechanism that provides more accurate, reliable operation with discs having uneven curvature or thickness. This superior mechanism is used for both playback and recording. The DVR-105 prevents buffer underruns for both DVD and CD media through the use of a unique Loss-less Linking scheme. This saves both time and money by eliminating the most likely cause of a disc write failure and hence wasted discs.

Pioneer DVD drives have won an excellent reputation for long-term reliability. The DVR-105 is a fifth generation model, and takes advantage of all the technological developments that have gone into professional DVD products. The DVR-105 writes and reads DVD-R/RW, write once and re-recordable formats that can be played on most DVD Video players and DVD-ROM drives. Both DVD-R and DVD-RW are approved formats of the DVD Forum, whose members include 219 manufacturers (as of January 2002). The drive also supports reading and writing of CD-R and CD-RW media and can be used as a DVD-ROM and CD-ROM drive as well.
