Sony DVP NS76H ... own a Bravia 40" V series and an upgrade in the area was necessary. as HD DVD and blue ray are toddlers, I needed an affordable solution before I go for a HD player in about a year. so I went for this player - having thoroughly compared it to denon 1730 and pioneer 696AV for about two hours at the dealer, much to their despair. to my surprise, it surpassed the denon in image quality and sounded a bit under but comparable to it. the pioneer was way under my standards, again, as a surprise. Denon DVD 1910 ... review is actually for the 1930, the newer model. The newest in this range is the 1740 as the 1900 series is discontinued. In the modern era (the naughties) the call for DVD players is still strong. The question is though, why would you buy a DVD player when in this time of High-Definition, Blu ray players are becoming more and more common, cheaper and present in most shops? Well, there might be a few reasons. Perhaps you have a large DVD collection and don t want to start again with blu ray and aren t jumping on the band wagon. Panasonic DVD LS83EG-K ... received my Panasonic LS83 portable dvd player as a Christmas present from my parents. I had suggested a player so my partner and I could use it to entertain ourselves and kill some time at airports, train stations and long transfers on coaches, trains etc. It can be fitted onto the head rest of a car as the mount comes supplied with the player.
