Philips DVP5960 ... Philips DVP5960 HDMI DVD is a lovely player. It has an attractive slim sleek look about it. It certainly looks the part set up in my ultra stylish pad. It doesn t take up too much space under the TV. I mean, it keeps to itself, it doesn t intrude. It has a laid back kind of a feel, but at the same time fits snuggly into the post modern contemporary setting. Setting it up was very easy, in fact I would even say that it was easy peasy. You just have to plug the cable into TV. If you have a home cinema system then you can attach speakers via inputs at its lovely rear. Sony DVP PQ1 ... is nothing nicer in my opinion than settling into bed, after a nice relaxing bath, and watching a film before drifting off into seamless sleep. For this to be an option you will obviously need a DVD player in your bedroom, bearing in mind the rubbish they put on TV these days. I was delighted when we came across the Sony PQ1 on a pallet of goods brought from eBay. THE DESIGN Instead of being the usual boring brick shape that DVD players come in, this is intended to use the minimal amount of surface area and it certainly manages to do that with the round, almost toilet shaped design. Panasonic DVD LS91EG-S ... have to admit that a portable DVD player wasn t really at the top of my Christmas list. In fact, I d never even really considered getting one. However, on receiving one from by partner this Christmas, I didn t complain...especially when I did some research into the prices for this review! These days, thanks to the increasingly appalling TV coverage, I ve found myself watching more and more DVDs. One problem that I ve always had is watching subtitled DVDs in bed at night when I ve taken my contact lenses out, and this has certainly been one solution to the problem.
