Philips DVP3264:
... DVD player and usually found for a great price! My boyfriend bought me this DVD player a few Christmas s ago, and I love it! He only bought it as a temporary fix until we could both decide what home cinema to go for. However it did not end up being a temporary fix as I still have it now nearly two years on as it is so fantastic! The player its self was very easy to set up - one scart to TV and one power lead n... Samsung DVD 1080P7 ... continual fan of Samsung, with mobile phone, laptop, and TV already in our household, we bought this DVD player following another upscaler that gave up after just a few weeks. And we re pleased as punch that we ended up with this one. Great picture, good sound quality, easy to use, and looks sleek and sophisticated, matching my Samsung LCD television. From kids cartoons to action packed adventure movies, this DVD player gives me a really great, sharp, quality picture. Without the conventional line of operating buttons, my toddler hasn t yet figured out how to work the player, thus ensuring a reasonable life span for this player - unlike the Yamaha amp we d bought! It r... Read the full review: Fab budget buy by stickyjs |

Sony DVP NS78HB ... is a reliable little machine. I say little because it is tiny in terms of depth. I was really surprised by its size- usual 43cm wide, slim height OK, and oh it only goes back about 15cm somehow. It may be small but it is a good little player. If you have a HD ready TV and want to see what upscaled DVD looks like this is a good bet. It has a lot of options about resolutions and formats so you can find one that works well with your TV. I found component gave better dark for me. The remote is very similar, if not identical, to the vast majority of all Sony DVD players making it easy to get to grips with. One thing I really love about Sony DVD players is their ability... Read the full review: GOOD LITTLE UPSCALER FROM SONY KICKS ASS by monkey_daz |

Yamaha DSP E 800 ... released this Home Cinema 3-channel Processor a few years ago to bridge the gap between people who wanted High Quality stereo playback but also wanted Home Cinema Surround Sound. Having owned one of these from new for over 5 years I can say that it does the job very well. I connect it s main channel pre-outs to an Arcam Delta 290 Integrated Amplifier. This means I can have stereo playback as usual from stereo Hi-Fi sources and then press PROCESSOR on the Arcam to use it with the Yamaha. The 3 amplifiers in the Yamaha then provide the amplification for the centre channels and rear surround while the Arcam becomes effectively a power amplifier for the front main chan...
