Pioneer DV 626 ... is well respected manufacturer for top quality home cinema products, and it ranks amongst the top few manufacturers of DVD players, up there with Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic. Pioneer is well known for impeccable build quality and excellent performance and the DV-626D is a brilliant example of just what Pioneer can do. Panasonic DVD RV 20 ... bought this DVD player from Richer Sounds in London Bridge a few months ago,so I've had a fair amount of time to play with the thing! Picture quality is fantastic and so is the sound. I don't think anyone will be unhappy with the playback functions. It even has a dialogue enhancer to help bring out the verbal sounds from the background noise - this is especially good for two speaker systems, where the sound isn't split into the proper channels. The in-film menu can be a little hard to navigate - but once you get used to it, its a doddle. When I bought this from Richer Sounds, I paid the extra 20/30 quid to make the machine multi-region. Alba DVD 103 ... think the Alba 103 is a brilliant player. You might have some problems playing some movies like Dinosaurs. The reason for this is that the actual lens is not reading a certain track on the DVD rom. This player is one of the cheapest on the market and does come as standard a Multi-region player. (WICKED :-) The actual remote control has several functions that you would see on higher priced player. These include, Zoom, Scan, Digest, chapter selection, and slow motion to name just a few.
