Grundig GDV 210:
... have had a 210 for around 18 months now and have only had a few problems with it. (1) was that it didn't play the matrix, something about the bios chip, but that has been sorted and (2) it doesn't play RCE encoded dvd's, it didn't play Gladiator Disk 2, after calling Columbia Tristar I found that they were offering a service to replace the disks with new encoded versions, the disk now works!!. Samsung DVD 511 ... have had this model of DVD player now for about 7 months and have had nothing but pleasure from it. At the time it cost about £220 but that price should have come down since then and for that price you simply can't go wrong. As far as i can tell a DVD player is a fairly simple device. It plays DVD's and that's about it. Anything more than that is not really going to be a great improvement and will only mean you parting with more cash than necessary. This is not to say that this model has no added features than playing DVD's. It has a 4x zoom facility and a great, intuitive 32x scan facility that makes finding the right point in a dvd movie ea... Lecson DVD 900 ... extensive research and window shopping I opted for this lovely silver dream machine to begin my DVD adventures. Set up was easy enough as was the remote hack to set it to multi region. It plays any disc from anywhere in the world, the picture and sound quality are excellent, especially when compared to video, and navigation of the menus are intuitive with the remote control. It is of reasonable build and has extra peace of mind with the free extended warranty by Debenhams, you never know what the kids might stuff in the front. I have already recommended this machine to a few friends and they too are pleased with the performance. Overall, this machine will do ever... Read the full review: Perfect Budget DVD by tattat |

Toshiba SD 210E ... write for a DVD Magazine. I have owned 3 other top-end DVD players before this and I would recommend Sony players for picture quality and Philips for sound. This DVD player is an excellent quality product for the price. It is not that well made. It has a picture quality which will not WOW you like that of a Sony or Panasonic model. You might as well buy a great quality one such as this and youll be able to really experience cinema quality. The remote control is a bit confusing and the on screen menus are quite unintuitive. It also interferes with my Hi Fi system! (unusual for a Toshiba product!) The buttons on the front feel quite solid and feel like they wil...
