The awia xd-dw1 is a top of the range dvd player.Not only does it play dvd's but it plays them onto its own screen,which explains the price tag. It is packed with features such as dolby digital surround sound.It has a built in stereo sound output socket for headphoes,and it has 24 bit cables so it can run at breakneck speed.It can also play standard audio cd's as well as dvd-video format dvd's. It is well styled, in that it is small,and lightweight.It is not so small that you cant see the screen,but the screen is actually generously sized and displays the video in vivid colour. This Aiwa portable DVD player has a crisp, clear Active Matrix Colour TFT Display which is good for watching movies up close. The built in surround sound speakers are what you would expect from a portable dvd - good, but not great. If you want to watch dvds on your television screen it has S-video and composite video outputs. Unfortunately, there are no component outputs, but few televisions today have component inputs so this isn't that big of a deal.
