When our dvd player broke we were on the hunt right away for a new one as both my husband and myself love sitting watching a good dvd. We decided to try argos first as it is just 5mins round the corner from where we stay and after being in the shop only 10mins we decided to go with this alba dvd ds-5711 as it looked nice and cost only £21.97 which I though was a good price.

The dvd player is black and silver with a small screen on it which when turned on lights up and reads the word hello and during a dvd the screen shows the run time. To connect the dvd player is very easy as all you need to do plug the SCART input into available slots and plug the socket in and thats it ready to go.

On the front of the player is an on/off button and an open/close button. Also there is a further 3 buttons which are used to play/stop and rewind or fast forward. We very rarely use these buttons tho as it comes with a remote control so we usually use that unless we my son has decide to hide the remote somewhere then we need to use the buttons. The remote comes with batteries which is great as you don't need to go hunting the cupboards for some and then realise there is none which we have done with previous dvd player or other items which require batteries. The dimensions of the dvd player are h3.3cm, w36cm, d25.5cm so it is a good size and takes up little room.

Overall I think this is a great buy as as well as being cheap it is very easy to use and operate and only takes 2 minutes to set up! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an easy to use dvd player.
