When the dark nights began to draw in last winter my great gran in law asked if she could borrow some of my videos as se was bored to death of watching the same ones over and over again on her long nights in, to my horror I realised we hadn't brought Nan forward with us into the age of dvd players and I no longer owned any videos so I set off to find a really simple machine that she would be able to use. I bought one of these last year as I wanted a basic player for the bedroom The menus were fine and i liked the options and settings that were available to me. This machine worked or ... Read the complete review

This little badboy costs £14.59 at Argos, and if all you want is a simple DVD player then you can't go wrong with it. The silver little box (22.5cm wide, 23.5cm deep, 3.8cm high) comes with a remote control, and considering the cost its relatively aesthetically pleasing. I am yet to work out whether its switched on or off when the red light is on... but regardless, if you press play it seems to work. Its got a scart socket for connecting to your TV. The DVD tray itself does look pretty flimsy - you wouldn't want to hit it with anything. But DVDs is something it can certainly manage. I've had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. The only minor ... Read the complete review
