Asda SP DVDTL01
Advantages: Easy to install, cheap, and stylish
Disadvantages: None that I can think of to be honest
DVD player were brought out to replace the VHS video tapes. We all remember the big clumpy tapes, they took up so much room but with the compact DVD they take up less than half room. Must more handier for people who have less room to store thing and people like me if you like to be up to date with the latest equipment that is available to buy.
My little girls argue over who is watching what and to save time and a headache for myself I decided to buy another one so that they can both watch what they want. I wanted something that was easy to use and suitable for my 4 year old to be able to use herself, not forgetting a cheap one as I also like a bargain, who doesn't a?
The cute, black, DVD player is small enough to fit in one hand. It measures at H4.2 x W26.0 x D22.5 cm. It has one scart socket that allows you to plug a scart lead from the DVD player to the television, however it doesn't come with a scart lead so you will need to buy one. You can buy them from the pound shop or even from the ASDA website so £2, lets face it its not really breaking the bank is it? It comes with one years Lengths of parts guarantee and one years Length of labour guarantee. It also comes with a standard size remote control and is dolby, digital compatible. The player plays DVDs, Cds, and MP3s.
Where Can I Buy This From?
I bought it from ASDA,If you are wanting to know a bit more information about the product you can have a little look on the website to see the product and a little bit about it. I have listed the link below all you have to do is search DVD player.
You will probably already know is that that there are different ways that you can order the product. You can phone the store to either reserve it or make a home delivery for you. You can pick up in store or get them to deliver it but the number to call is a 0845 number that will cost you a pretty penny, so I would probably recommend the best option is pick up in store.
If you do order it online to be delivered please note that there is a delivery charge of roughly £5 so bare that in mind if you do wish you get it delivered.
Strangely enough I am very surprised that the online price and in store price is different. I normally find that the online price is cheaper but this time it is the opposite way about. Online the DVD player is available to purchase for £20.00 and in store it is available to buy at £17.00.
My Overall Opinion
When I seen this DVD player sitting on the shelf for some reason the plain white and green box with a picture of the DVD player caught my eye. Funny really because when I look at it now it is rather plain and boring but compared to when it was sitting on the shops shelves it was eye catching and the price certainly caught my eye too. £17.00 well..... £19 really as I had to a scart lead but still a really good buy.
When I opened the box the DVD player was secured with polystyrene around it, to save it getting damages or broken. The box was pretty small too which cuts down on waste of paper and so on, and the cardboard can also be recycled.
Once the DVD player was out the box it was pretty easy to set up. I took the scart lead out of the packaging and attached one end to the television and the other side in the DVD player. I switched my TV on, pressed the on/off switch on the player and it come on straight away. Soon as the DVD asked me what option if I wanted I pressed the play button.
There are three switches on the DVD player, on/off, open/close, and play/pause. All three buttons are easy to press and are placed on the right hand side of the player. When they player opens it doesn't open like normal DVD players where the disk opens out. There is a little indentation that you press for the plastic "lid" to pop up, and to close the player all you do is press the plastic "lid" down.
Although I haven't had to use the remote control my youngest like to remind me that there it is there by removing it from the TV unit and dropping it on the floor even now and then. And yes it is sturdy enough that it has been damaged or broken. It is a black stylish remote that has different colour buttons in different parts of the remote to make it easier to find the right button you are wanting to use. For example the bright red button is to switch the DVD play on or off, the grey buttons are numbers, and function buttons, and blue buttons are for the main buttons that you will need which is play, stop, fast forward ect.
There are special features on this player which I am going to list below:
I think over all considering everything that I have mentioned above and the fact that I have not any problems with this product I would give full marks of 5 out of 5 and would highly recommend. If my 4 year old can manage to work this them you will be fine:o)
I hope that my review was of some use to you, thank you for taking the time to read it, it is very much appreciated. Thanks again.
