Advantages: Cool silver machine, Loads of features, Great sound and picture

Disadvantages: Remote control

I recently bought this DVD Player for just £150. This price is the same at many stores including Argos. As I opened the box, I realised how small and light the player was. I was happy with the appearance, a shapely silver box.

The remote control looked nice, but was very light, which gave it a cheap feel to it. I was also irritated slightly by it as the player wouldn't always respond to it straight away, as the angle which it points has to be around 30° towards it the player.

I began to get used to the player very quickly. It's incredibly easy to connect to your television through a 21 pin scart-to-scart cable. You can also connect it to your stereo, for greater sound. This is done with other cables which are all explained fully in the easy-to-read manual which comes with it.

The Player can play DVDs, VCDs and normal audio CDs. A great thing is that you can play some DVD's from other countries and watch them at home. The player uses Dolby Digital sound.

There are some great features on the DVD Player, and I was surprised to see that there were feaures which other DVD makers did not have.

You have the main functions such as play and stop. You also have rewind and fast-forward in many different speeds, depending on how far forward or back you want to go.

You get on-screen display. By pressing a button on the remote, you can find out where in the film you are, how long to go, what chapter you are on and lots more!

You get subtitles in up to 32 languages depending on the DVD, audio language in up to 8 languages. After watching Charlies Angels, I strangely watched it again in Hungarian. Its funny, unless you understand Hungarian.

A great feature is that you get different angles in some scenes. These can be quite rare, but its great to see! You can also zoom up to 3 times.

Theres a feature called A-B Repeat, where you select part of a film and it replays as many times as you wan
t. You can also bookmark your favourite part of a film and easily find it for future viewing.

A great new feature is that you can play games, such as Tetris. I haven't used these much while watching films, but if I get bored, then maybe! You can also play the games while listening to CD's which the DVD Player allows.

With many great features and good quality picture and sound, I give the DVD Player 4 stars.

Good opinion. It was a toss up for me between this player and the one I have got now (a JMB player, basically the same as yours, just a lesser known brand) which i got for £129 so saved myself a bit of money.
