... Well, there might be a few reasons. Perhaps you have a large DVD collection and don t want to start again with blu ray and aren t jumping on the band wagon. Or maybe you have a blu ray player that isn t so great with DVD play back? Or some other reason. Denon DVD 1910 ... ve just bought one of these. Oooh it s good. Really good. Here s why. It s a dead cool DVD player which is ideal if you have an HD ready telly and want to really enjoy your DVDs to the full. It has Dolby sound so is great if you hook it up to separate speakers, but pretty good if you don t, too. It comes in silver (well alumininium) or black, and compared to some DVD players it is quite chunky - about the thickness of a video recorder. I don t know why. I forgive it this though, as the picture quality is awesome. Really sharp. It has 1080 upscaling, which means it is fully HD compatible, and a detachable mains lead, which I couldn t see the point of until More Techni... Denon DVD 2800 MK II ... you splash out on a quality TV then you need a quality DVD player. Having recently purchased a Panansonic LCD TV I knew that I could no longer rely on that cheap bit of technological tat that I bought from Tesco last year. If nothing else it just looked embarrassing under my 37 inch LCD screen. ~~ Looks and Set-Up ~~ The Denon 2800 MKII is an impressive unit that seems solidly constructed and comes in either a black or gold champagne casing that features a 15mm-thick aluminium extruded front panel. Next stop was a specialist Home Entertainment shop, the trouble with these shops is you get carried away before you know it you are looking at a Home Theatre System that?s costing way above your price range. So I set myself a budget and asked the sales assistant for advise on the best equipment I could get for my money. I was shown a Denon Home Theatre set-up, the DVD-2800 being part of it.
