I have had no problems so far and have had the machine for about nine months now so im very pleased, as i only use it at tops 6 times a week i assume that it is made best for the average film watcher who just wants one for when people lend them dvd's or they buy or rent a few, and not the avid film watcher who will own many dvds and watch them over and over. Suggested for families wit...more

Premium Review Grundig GDV 210: Generally a good machine, but … (656 words)

Retailing at less than £200 and sporting a sleek grey case, and with the added bonus that it is easily handset-hacked to multi-region status, the Grundig GDV210A is certainly a choice that should be considered when buying a DVD player. It supports anamorphic attempts to increase picture quality on widescreen televisions, and unlike other models which have low price tags attached, this player does not, to my knowledge, have problems playing any generally available DVDs (including The Matrix, a common sticking point, especially for the Proline), it has a zoom facility, and region 1 DVDs play with no problems at all once the little code has been typed in (if you really ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Play Region 1 DVD's !!!! (307 words)

This dvd player is a quality buy, it is available from dixons and cost me £200 but i think it is less now. It has had all the bugs fixed so it plays the matrix and other troublesome discs, and it comes with two scart sockets at the back so you really get a lot for your money. It has a great little remote control which has fdar more than just the basic functions on it, and the interface and setup is a whizz. The picture is great (as expected off DVD) and it gives superb sound quality, especially on a surround sound TV. It looks good on the shelf, has a nice silver finish and few buttons to get in the way. The best thing by a mile though ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Grundig GDV 210A - A great budget player (399 words)
by - written on 14/07/00 (Very useful, 193 readings)

The Grundig GDV 210A is one of the latest entries in the increasingly cluttered field of budget DVD players. The player offers all the usual features you would expect but this is a budget player so the features you get don't extend much beyond those inherent to DVDs (multiple angles, subtitles, chapter selection etc.). The fast forward and rewind are rather slow and feature only two speeds, there is also a slow motion and frame advance option. As well as this there is a zoom function which only zooms to one predetermined level, there is no zooming in or out as you might hope. But with a budget player you shouldn't be looking too much at the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cheap And Cheerful (451 words)

I bought the Grundig Dvd player in September 2000 and I think it is great. I didn't have any dealings with Grundig items in the past, but we bought a Grundig widescreen tv and that turned out to be a great buy so we took a change and bought the Dvd player. I'm not that sure of our reasons for getting the Dvd player. Maybe because we are electrical fanatics and we wanted to keep up to date with the growing trend of technology! Anyway the £180.00 price was great for us. It meant that we could get the latest thing out and not worry about the cost. Ours is quite a sleek design. It is gold but not in a cheap nasty way. It has ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Grundig GDV 210: DVD - Digital Versitile Disk (308 words)

This is a low price smooth running dvd machine, it does everything you would need from a dvd player IF you only use it to watch films. -This was writen for the Grundig GDV210(without the A) so it is a model behind but the features are roughly the same, however the overheating bug seems to have been fixed on the (A) version. It has all the basic features like, slow motion(in 3 speeds i think) fast motion(in 2 speeds) pause zoom, repeat or playback, search scan track forward surround sound ports mp3 compatible, dobly compatible and all that. It has nothing fancie just for your everyday needs or film watching. I have had no problems so far and have had the ...  Read the complete review
