Advantages: Affortable Multi Region Player.

Disadvantages: Doesn't play CDr's.

I got the Hitachi Dv-p305e initially to compliment my Hitachi Widescreen TV. As i had no problems with the TV, i thought i'd give their DVD player a try.

The main plus for me is the fact that the player can be made Multi-Region using the Remote Control supplied, and after a short sequence of button presses... You have a Player that will play all Regions and can even handle RCE. I had no problems with the likes of Hollow Man or The Patriot.

And with a good plus comes a minus in that the Dv-p305e will not play CDr's.

Picture and Sound quality are about what you'd expect from a £200 player, both PAL and NTSC look great on the 28" Widescreen.

The front readout could be better i suppose, and i prefered my old Panasonic 160's Speaker layout on the front panel. :)

Remote Control is fairly straigh forward, simple to get the hang of, and is not too big either.

So to round off... For the £200 price tag, you get a Multi Region, well built, easy to use DVD player.

Well, i have had no problems with it yet... :)

Since moving house, have not got round to getting a Hi Fi as yet, so the DVD player through tthe Sound System does for now... :)

Does anyone really use their DVD player to play CDs? I would have thought you were much better off with a normal CD player unless your sound setup is something a bit special.

I prefer to use a dedicated CD Player anyway.
