Advantages: A universal player at a good price

Disadvantages: Poor Cd replay

It's taken some time to happen but finally Dvd audio players are avilable. The Jvc is the first universal DVD player to hit the streets and is suprising affordable at £500. It has a internal decoder for Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 as well as Meridian Lossless Packing deocoder required by th Dvd audio standard. The picture lacks the details and the decoding is rather poor.

Stereo replay is a big let down. Despite the theoritical performance benefits of a 24 bit/192 khz compatible Dac . DVD- audio disks of which there are a few they sound a lot better .
