Bear in mind that this player still sells for $400 on average in April 2000, a year later, and players without these shortcomings and a similar jog-shuttle system are on average $300, or 25% cheaper! I originally bought this product about a year ago after comparing features between a few brands, and ended up returning it 3 weeks later because I was unhappy with the features, or lack thereof in this 'higher end' unit. I was impressed by the many sound features, like the 3D and video features, like the zoom, and this prompted me to buy it. I also paid $399 by mail in late spring of '99 when this was a new model, so I got a very good deal. However, right after I hooked it up, I noticed many shortcomings.
