	JVC XV 523 ... I'd seen a good review of the player in a magazine, it was in my budget and available in my local Dixons, so it seemed like a good purchase and indeed for the most part it has been. I've found the picture quality to be excellent, noticably better than players in the 150 pound range. I've always noticed problems with dark sections of the screen on the cheaper players, but this JVC shows no sign of that. It also feels like quite a sturdy piece of kit, although I'm quite kind to my equipment so I haven't really put this sturdiness to the test. 	JVC XV S 42 ... few months ago I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new DVD player. Then it arrived and my first impression was that that it looked nice. It is very slimline and has a lovely silvery finish, the remote control has many buttons and I thought it looked complicated. You see I am not very good with machines and working them out. When I opened the user manual I was pleasantly surprised as it was very clear and with good instructions. The first thing to impress me was that as soon as I plugged everything in, it automatically found the viewing channel from my TV. I will now try to explain the features for you. 	JVC XV 721 ... taken some time to happen but finally Dvd audio players are avilable. The Jvc is the first universal DVD player to hit the streets and is suprising affordable at £500. It has a internal decoder for Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 as well as Meridian Lossless Packing deocoder required by th Dvd audio standard. The picture lacks the details and the decoding is rather poor. Stereo replay is a big let down. Despite the theoritical performance benefits of a 24 bit/192 khz compatible Dac . DVD- audio disks of which there are a few they sound a lot better . ...
