bobdabuilder JVC XV 511: ... recently bought the new JVC DVD Player which is classed in the mid-range of DVD players in comparison to the current market. It has many features and is one of the cheapest players to have dolby digital surround sound software and extensions for great cinema sound. The only drawback I find with this player is the fact that it looks a little bit cheap and nasty in the black colour whereas more upmarket DVD players a...

... owned several JVC audio and video products over the years and have never experienced a single problem. I particularly enjoy the convenience offered by the CompU-Link feature and built an A/V system around JVC components. I was disappointed when, after 2 months of flawless operation, the XV-511 suddenly developed playback problems. My e-mail to the support center was replied to in a reasonable amount of time; however, it deferred to using the telephone support number. When I called JVC, after a lot of waiting on hold, they told me that none of their players supported it at the time.
