Advantages: Quality for low price
Disadvantages: ...the white top...
An awesome piece of kit!
I owned a Portable DVD player previously and used it till it could cope no more. (lasted about 2years) When the DVD player broke, i decided I wanted to spend a bit more on one. Unfortunately the purse strings were unable to allow this, so back I went to looking in the Argos Catalogue. That was when I came across this one, the LG DP 271!
The unit itself is smart and the white coloured top on the lid, strangely looks like it belongs. I wasn't quite sure of it for a start, but it certainly grew on me, and it does break up the black. The picture on the screen in clear and doesnt flicker or get that weird sqaure effect if the unit is moved. The swivel screen is very handy, although it does only swivel in one direction. I often place it upside down on a shelf above my head when I am working on the computer! This is only possible as there is a 'flip' button which turns the screen upside down.
The screen can also lay completely flat for the more discreet watching, ie, on an airplane etc.
The sound is very good. much better than my previous DVD player. Its not 'tinny' and there is also 2 headphone jacks for 2 persons to watch. (great if you have kids!)
There is the option of using the remote control, but there are controls on the unit anyway, so i only use the remote if i really cant be bothered to move, or to adjust the pictured etc.
Overall I am so glad I did try Argos first! It only cost me £90, and it is well worth the money.
Summary: Great piece of kit!
