Just bought one last June 2008 since it was the more affordable among the well-known brands. The image's quality's ok, but the sound can definitely be improved. However, after only a few months, the power adaptor suddenly broke down. LG's service center told me that it was only an accessory and was not covered in the warranty. It's not like that power adaptor was bought separately nor can I use the device without the power adaptor. Seems to be a very minor thing, but the player is useless without it. You can use the battery for long coz you need the adaptor to charge the battery. Now I'm sure LG has a good reason for creating such policies on their warrany. However, I think customer satisfaction is more valuable than what it would have cost them to fix or replace the battery adaptor. So, I had to buy a new adaptor which didn't have a warranty either.
