Advantages: Easy to set up
Disadvantages: Useless manual
Working in a video rental store I have had many people telling me of the delights of the world of DVD. Unfortunately, working in a video store means I haven't got much cash to spend on one. Routing around the internet I came across an ad for the LG3200E (multi-region) for £130.00 and decided to take the plunge. I was pleasantly surprised on its arrival to discover a classy piece of equipment: slim, sleek, silver and with a scart lead. Unfortunately this is where my own problem started. The set-up manual made no sense to me (and I have set up many a home PC etc.). It suggested by use of large pictures (and little text) that a scart lead, audio plugs and s-video were needed. This was confirmed (I thought) when I could get a fantastic picture but no sound. The next morning a call to Richer Sounds (my supplier) cleared it up. Bad quality scart leads supplied by the manufacturer were the problem. I had a fiddle with the connections and sure enough the problem was solved. That out the way, I cannot fault the machine in any other way. Picture quality is brilliant, sound good (I especially like the 'fake' 3-D surround sound option). Having not had a DVD player before I was not aware that it was particularly slow at reading the discs - it just gives me the opportunity to pour a glss of wine before the film starts!

- 19/07/01 Yes, I'd like more info too. Is it multi-region? But, welcome to DooYoo anyway. :) |

- 18/07/01 Hi and welcome. More info on this one would have earned you a better rating but not bad for first attempt. If you re-write then let me know and I will happily re-rate. Shelley:) |

- 18/07/01 Good first op but a little more detail would get you a vu. Try reading slimlee for his DVD player op to get an idea of the sort of level to aim to achieve. Mail me here if you add further detail and I will happily rerate your op |
