~A reliable Dvd player from LG~
************************
The LG electronics range is one that I have bought from and found to be mostly of a serviceable and reliable quality. The LG 4710 Dvd player that I had in use over a good length of time was a basic product that worked well enough when required. I feel that at the time of purchase this Dvd player offered me reasonable style and design flair, along with a fair range of basic functions at a reasonable price. Having found the Dvd player easy to hook up to tv and power connections when it was first set in place ready for use, I would also say that this model was relatively quick and problem free to set up from new.
I opted for the LG 4710 as it appeared to offer good value when I compared it with other similar products I could have bought at the time. In use the Dvd player proved to be a good purchase, as was problem free for a good length of time and could be used to play a variety of discs from standard bought titles as well as film rental dvds. This Dvd player was able to handle almost everything it was asked to when it was in use and 99% of the time it played all dvd recordings clearly and accurately, without showing any lines or on screen fuzziness. As technology goes having a near enough trouble free product such as this one, which worked as it should almost each and every time it was switched on, is a bonus in my opinion.
The build quality of the Dvd player appeared outwardly good as did the overall design, although I wouldn't say this is a super slim and sleek design by any means. The slightly bulkier shape and form of this product doesn't make it THE most attractive item I could have opted for and although I wouldn't say the overall design is ugly it isn't compact and sleek. The look of this product is perhaps slightly more functional than some newer products, as is the layout of the central dvd loading tray. The loading tray slid out ready for use quite smoothly and slowly and returned when loaded with a dvd in the same slow yet sure way without jamming, leaving it ready for the dvd play button to be pressed to start viewing a film etc.
The well sized remote control that came with this model worked as it should and made using the Dvd player more user friendly in my opinion. I found that the battery life for the remote control was quite good as I didn't have to replace a battery very often which kept costs down a little. As I recall this Dvd player handled a range of disc formats with no playability issues of any note and these included dvd, cdrw, cdr and cd which I know some older Dvd players had issues with. The zoom feature on the product could run from 4 x zoom to 16 x zoom and this seemed to work well enough most of the time it was in use. The small sized central LCD display worked as it was meant to when the Dvd player was in use.

My rating for this product is 4 stars as I had no issues with it at all when in was in use. I have since bought other LG products and found them to be of a reliable quality and I would certainly look at buying from the LG range again in future should the need arise. I feel that this Dvd player is neat and functional and worked as it was designed to, with it being quick and easy to set up from new.
