Minato G1

I wanted to pay around £150 DVD and donate the VCR to the kids. A trade mag reccomended the Minato with 5 stars. It was so much cheaper than anything else that I had resrvations but I am very pleased. It does everything promised. DVDs look great. It will even play MP3 off CD-RW back through the TV. They sound OK to me, but I do have a poor ear for music. The menu is basic, but I was like most people with loads of functions on the VCR I never used. If all you want to do is put in a DVD or CD and play, this does fine. The menu can be slow, but I have only seen this DVD player so do not know if that is typical. I won't say "cheap" because that gives an untrue impression of the Minato G1. It's ... well ... it's a DVD player! What more do you want? It has all the usual features you'd expect, it's black, it's "inexpensive" (I got this one for £120 in Tesco) and, best of all, it's multi regional. That's where the "versatile" comes in. ;) "But it's not advertised as multiregional!" I hear you cry and that's true enough.
