I was recently going on holiday to the canary Islands and the airline we chose had no TV's to watch. I'm not a big reader and I knew by the time the flight arrived I would be bored to tears. This is when I decided to look for a portable DVD player to take with me. I bought my unit second hand from EBay at a very reasonable price but if you type in the brand and unit number into Google it comes up with various retailers who stock this item.
This DVD player comes along with a little remote to allow you control your unit with out having to press the buttons on the unit itself. When you take the controller out of the unit it reveals the docking station that allows you play and charge your ipod using the DVD player as well. I have a 80gb ipod and was very impressed with this. There is also a slot that allows you put your memory card into the player and view photos and films this as well.
The screen being able swivel I though was brilliant, I tend to swivel it right round so the screen then has the base unit behind it and you are left with just the screen to look at. The screen size is 8.5 inches and I have to say I was very pleased the picture quality, much better than some other models I have seen. The sound also is much better than some of the other DVD players I have seen
Unfortunately the kids now seem to have claimed it as their own but it is withstanding their brutal treatment and has been dropped and stood on and still works perfectly.
It comes complete with AC adaptor, car adaptor and AV cable I have found the battery tended to last approximate 4 hours with is very good compared to lot of the other DVD players available.
It definitely served it's purpose on my holiday and continues to serve the kids on large car journeys at moment. It is a little more expensive that others but well worth the money!
Enjoy your DVDs and iPod videos on 8.5" wide swivel screen. The sleek and compact Philips DCP850 also features a SD/MMC memory card reader, which allows you to view digital photos or DivX movies stored on your memory card.
