good dvd player for under £100 (Philips DVD 634)

This DVD player is definitely a good purchase for £100 but I wouldn't pay any more for it.
I bought mine from a catalogue as they had 20% off all electrical goods, and I?m glad they did, when I got the player out of the box I was disappointed at the look of the thing, it looks two years old with it's push button on/off switch and fascia which to be honest is a little bland. Not to be disheartened I plugged it in and off I went, the motor in it was noisy on the start-up but that quietened down after a while, the picture quality was as to be expected from a DVD player but certainly nothing exceptional as was the sound quality.

I have had problems loading up some discs but after continual cleaning of the discs all seems to be well.
The internal options on the player are very basic; clock countdown/count-up and stereo/ mono is pretty much it.
I would recommend this player to parents that want to get a cheap DVD player for their teenage kid?s bedroom or as a second player for the TV in the main bedroom but not for use in the living room just because it is so basic.
