You can play content from your USB memory stick or audio player (the player has a front-in USB), or enjoy other compressed movies and music formats that you have downloaded from the web and then burnt onto CD-R/RW (MPEG, MP3, WMA or JPEG files for example). This player is DivX Ultra certified, which means that you can enjoy the highest quality possible from compressed files. The 600AV-S has an HDMI output with 1080p upscaling, ensuring that what you see is of the highest possible quality, regardless of the source.

Getting an average dvd player is an easy task today - even the bargain basement $30 jobs provide acceptable picture quality over component (some even with progressive scan) and digital output for sound. But it takes a fair bit more to get an exceptional dvd player, and the Pioneer DV 600-AVS is one of them. At its core this is a top quality upscaling dvd player. Picture quality is faultless, with excellent component and hdmi output. All the usual adjustments of brightness, color, contrast etc are available.
