Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Not as many features as new models
When I had problems with my Pioneer DV-505 I took it back and demanded this one. I had to pay some extra, but it was well worth it. This was the first player in the UK to have a DTS output. This was my main reason for buying it because I like to be future proof. I also bought the multi-region version because I generally import my movies from America. The plaayer is two years old, but still competes with the best of them out at the moment. Picture = 9 The picture produced by this player is nothing short of marvelous. Colours and detail are presented truthfully and there is no motion trailing and smearing from the player. Sound = 9 I have this hooked up to my digital amp and have Dolby Digital and DTS discs, they both sound marvellous, so I have no option but to recommend the sound to everyone. Features = 9 The player looks so damn pretty, (not really a feature but what the heck). The remote control is great and has a jog shuttle dial on it. The player also has two scart outputs (one RGB compatible) and SCHS output and composite video out. All the outputs you could ever need. Can't recommend this enough, especially as you can pick them up for about £330 from techtronics website, and they are region free!
