You can play your entire DVD and CD collection, including DVD-Audio and SACD. The DV-LX50 is multi-format. The system will even play the multi-media formats from your home PC, including DivX Ultra, Windows Media Videos or Windows Media Audio files, simply burn these on a CD and enjoy files from your PC in your living room.

The system plays high-resolution JPEG photo files with the photo viewer. Up until now, these files could only be displayed at the lower, standard DVD resolution. But the scaling ability of the DV-LX50 means that your photographs can now be shown in high-resolution detail.

The DV-LX50 has an HDMI output, which means it is capable of upscaling video signals to the high definition resolution with no loss of quality. The player also has HDMI control, which means that you can operate its main functions using the remote of your flat screen TV, for example, a simple, coherent entertainment solution.
