... will play dvds flawlessly and i have not come across any discs yet that have had any complications , films like the matrix play without any faults so it looks like pioneer have got the firmware good on this player. Picture quality is very good and i noticed a slightly better picture than the previous 909 model. The second major selling point of the 919 is its ability to play the forerunner to dvd ,laserdisc. Laserdisc's are much bigger than dvds and infact they are 12 inch in size the same as a old music lp. Yo...more

With dvd movies gradually taking over from vhs tapes more and more households across the country are getting a insight into "home cinema" My first venture into the delights of viewing at home came in the shape of a pioneer 909 but sadly some local dropkick decided he too would like this piece of equipment and promtly broke into my home and stole it!!. Several weeks passed and enter a replacement player but this time it was pioneer's replacement model the 919.
