Advantages: Looks Good, Good Picture, Fine Sound
Disadvantages: Some Disc's Don't Work, Little Noise
This was the first ever DVD that I ever brought. I knew nothing about DVD player and so off to my local Comet store and I came across the Proline 2000. I bought it and have had it since June and it has very rarely let me down.
All the disc's work on my DVD player apart from the odd little things like Air Force one and one the extras from Buffy season 1 R1. This machine is good because it is hackable to play all regions by entering a code, a feature which isn't available on the more expensive Sony players.
This player is dual region and so it can access most of the extra's on the disc's. The player isn't very aloud apart from if it is searching for something specific on the disc and also the player can have a few seconds when it freezes but the DVD box says the player may freeze.
The player comes with extra's such as parental control which is good as varying levels for this can be set and also various other aspects of the player can be adjusted such as picture size and also the sound settings.
Overall, this is a good player that although some disc's don't work on this player (although depends on region) it is a good player to start off with and especially if you are strapped for cash.
