Advantages: good matt black colour and good remote response

Disadvantages: just a run of the mill player

When I first saw this DVD player I thought that it was rather stylish looking, as it was completely black, with a matt finish, meaning that there will not be as many annoying fingerprints that cover it through average daily use. It comes as a similar set up to all major DVD players on the market today, with the DVD tray on the left and some basic control buttons on the right of the front of the player. The player itself is of average size in comparison to most modern player with height 3.8cm depth 23.0cm and width 26.0cm.

The player itself is capable of playing a wide range of discs including all types of DVD; DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R and DVD+RW. As with most modern DVD players it comes with JPEG image playback which enables you to view JPEG photo images from CD's. Again as with most modern DVD players it allows music CD playback ranging from VCD (video CD) to CD-R and CD-RW which have mp3's stored on them. Nothing really different here to any average DVD player then. The DVD player has the usual 1 SCART socket to connect the player to the TV nothing exciting with that then.
When switched on and no DVD is in the machine a screensaver is display as so to prevent any static image "burning" into the TV screen, not really such a big issue, only really an issue with rear projection TV's which are gradually being phased out with more modern LCD and plasma TV's. And the DVD player comes with a remote as standard.

So basically my opinion is that this DVD player is average. There is no features on this machine that makes it stand out from the crowd or and features that make it fail miserably. This player is quite silent when running in my experience and it is quite a reliable model. It is reasonably priced at around £30 and can perform as well as any other brand or model in its price range.
The picture quality from this DVD player is quite good, with it giving good colour, quality and sharpness. As well as the sound it gave a clear crisp sound and is well suited for both playing music and also it gives good quality sound from DVD's as well.

It's amazing how cheap DVD players are these days.
