I bought my machine in January this year, with the hardware upgrade, and it has been a revelation. The Samsung is very easy to use and is very pleasing on the eye. The features are well explained in the owners manual.
Best of all this machine has a number of dedicated web sites detailing how to make it a multi-region machine.
I would recommend this player to anyone who is looking for a budget machine with top of the range features.
DVD the best format for movies fans everywhere.
11/00 Update. 709 still going strong and in daily use due to the number of DVD's I have obtained via WWW.
Picture quality remains outstanding and some features I have found over time have proved very useful.
709 still remains a very good entry level machine into the world of DVD.
