Advantages: quality (build & picture)

Disadvantages: no scart

A very sleek, very attractive DVD player with a nice twist, and that is you can mount it on a stand (which is provided) so that the DVD is on its side. Not a big deal but a nice touch all the same to a robust DVD Player.

Connections:
Good connections on the rear of the machine allows you to connect via RGB (the red, yellow and white) connectors, as well as getting picture through the S video connection. And also Coax and Optical so there is plenty of choice, (although sadly lacking a scart connection)

Output:
Outputs DTS, Mped, Dolby Digital and this means that you can get great sound quality (depending on TV/Speaker setup) although if your thinking of a home cinema system it would sound ideal ( i have it connected the the HTK475 system from Sony)

Mine came as a region 2 but got it converted to Multi Region which cost around £100 at the time but should be cheaper now.

Remote:
You may get lost with the remote control, it has tons of buttons, but in fairness you only use a few of them regually. The setup menu which appears on the TV screen is comprehensive and givs you information in plain english and you must remember to go into setup should you be connecting to a home cinema kit

Summary:
I have no complaints about this machine, it is compact, feature rich and attractive to look at, definatly worth a look. You can even dance around your front room using it as a CD player

No scart connection? £400? Yikes, shows how much better the specifications are now and how much the prices have come down! Most £120-£170 models can beat the pants off that now.
