Advantages: Great quality
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
As each member of my family have very different taste in films we tend to just watch what we want to watch on our own. Sounds sad but it stops the arguing over films every other night. This also means that we have 4 different dvd players with this one being the best. Unfortunately not mine but is certainly snuck into my room constantly as it seems its rare you ever find a DVD player that lasts longer than a few months without having the disk getting stuck or just deciding it doesn't want to turn on any more.
I brought my brother this DVD player after sneaking his into my room and breaking it not long after. Its cost me £45 from amazon but seems to have risen to £67 since then so I guess I was just lucky. Away from amazon and looking through Google shopping, this product ranges from £30- £59. Probably sound a bit too much for a DVD player when you can buy one for so much cheaper however, in my experience going for the more expensive option is, in the end cheaper and its much longer lasting and wont need to be replaced as often.
It doesn't look like much. There no cool, modern appearance to it that makes it stand out much from any other DVD player. It has a black, shiny case with Sony written on the front. Besides this is a screen showing you the how the film has been on as well as giving you a little greeting when turned on. The only buttons on the front is a play, stop (also can be used as pause when pressed once) and the on and off button. Id much rather more options on the front as buttons often get lost in our house.
Another good point about this DVD player (although it probably not a good idea to mention it on here) is the fact it can play pirate DVDs. For some reason some DVD player tend not to allow these ones to play and doesn't recognise the disk but this one plays them nearly every time.
Overall, it's lasted a long time in our house which is saying something as technology has a habit of breaking with my family. It does everything you need it to do so even though its quite pricey id say its worth it.
