Toshiba SD 210EThe slim and sleek SD210E is aimed at the home-cinema enthusiast. The striking silver or black case carries the minimum of controls. The on-screen setup is mercifully logical and easy to use. Along with an almost universal set of connections offered for image output - S-VHS, Composite and a fully-wired Scart - you also get a set of component video sockets, which if your display equipment supports it is the preferred method for the best picture quality possible. Sound is handled by optical and coaxial digital outs and by a set of stereo analogue outputs. Newest Review: ... the effect using just a set of stereo speakers. The effect isn't always successful but Toshiba's attempt is one of ... more More Toshiba DVD players

After a long fight with my partner of what I wanted for Christmas, I eventually plucked up the courage to ask for a DVD player. This did not go down very well to begin with as he feels he is some sort of technical buff when it comes to gadgets. I think not! He is actually one of those kinds of people who has every gadget going but does not even know how they work. We have had our video for almost 5 years and he still does not know how to record with it! So when I woke on Christmas morning to a fantastic DVD player I was pleasantly surprised at the model and make. It is very slim and sleek and goes very well with my TV and video in all black which was ... Read the complete review

What can i say until you have seen THe Matrix on DVD you have not lived. I joined the Revolution just before christmas and chose my player after seeing a number of favourable reviews of the machine from friends and magazines. I got home plugged it in watched the Warner Brother logo come up and I think to myself that looks good, the menu comes up, it looks cool, the film starts oh my god, oh my god, this looks fantastic, the picture is so sharp, the sound so crisp. That was my first introduction to dvd and I am glad it was on this player it has loads of features to start with from dts, dolby sound, multi angle, zoom, crystal clear pausing. The list goes ... I've had my machine for about 8 months now and what a wonderful 8 months I've had. I used to buy a few films on VHS however since getting this machine I wouldn't like to guess how much money I've spent on DVD's !! The machine it self comes with all the leads you require, having been a novice to home cinema I had no problems getting connected to my TV. Picture & sound quality are both vastly superior to VHS (plus no more tape rewinding) The remote does all you could ask of it. All in all a great introduction to the world of DVD, I haven't looked back !! Plus I got 10 DVD rentals & 3 DVD films thrown in. ... Read the complete review

I bought this machine over a year ago and have never looked back. It was at the time the DVD player that you could buy for under £400 and it is still a lot better than some of the new players being released. Where as other budget players were hampered by certain discs not working properly the Toshiba had no problems at all. In fact I have not found a region 2 disc that doesn't work properly on it yet. The image quality is excellent thanks, in part, to a very good quality scart cable that is supplied with it (sometimes factors like this can make a lot of difference). However, not everything is perfect. There is not region hack for this model. A ... Read the complete review

The Toshiba SD-2109B may not look the part, but it plays it. If you’re the sort of person who judges a book by its cover then you’re in for one hell of a shock when you get to see the SD-2109B in action. It features great picture and sound quality – putting even the top Sony players three times the cost to shame. If you want to get the best of your DVDs, and see them as intended then buy this player – it won’t let you down. Unfortunately, there a few problems. The player features no onboard Dolby Digital decoder. There is also no easy software hack using the remote. However, you can get a chipped SD-2109B fairly cheap, ... Read the complete review
