Advantages: Cheap, fully featured

Disadvantages: Slight overcomerable problem with small number of films

After much soul searching and scanning around the net I finally took the plunge and purchased a 750 from Tescos about 2 months ago. I wanted a DVD player with good video output (RGB) but without any surround sound decoding, it had to be cheap, play CDRs, be multi-region, black (strange i know, but i didnt want a silver player sat between my black tv and video!), and have DTS compatible digital audio out (see my Digitheatre DTS review).

In the 2 months that Ive had the player it has performed brilliantly. I use my seperate surround sound system in dolby digital and/or DTS mods and watched 10 or so films with practically no problems. The player does have some known hitchs - from memory "The talented Mr Ripley" and "Jaws" both have problems where the film doesnt start when you select play from the DVD menu, this isnt a problem because if you go to the chapter select menu on the disk and select the 1st chapter the film will play through properly.

Overall this player is cheap, fully featured, and a generally good value-for-money buy, if you want a good looking player, or one with a more prominent brand name then expect to shell out £50 to £100 more for the same features!
