Direct Playback of MP3/WMA/DivX and JPEG Files from USB Devices A USB interface on the front panel lets you plug in USB MP3 and WMA players as well as USB memory devices (like flash drives and portable HDDs) for convenient access to your favorite stored music and images.

Progressive scanning provides maximum resolution for a smoother, filmlike image when viewed on a high definition TV or large screen. This DVD player offers progressive scanning of both NTSC and PAL signals. HD JPEG Picture Playback The DVD-S661 also provides High- Definition JPEG picture playback, allowing the enjoyment of unsurpassed JPEG pictures at its native resolution via HDMI 1080i or 720p video signals with maximum quality and detail.

This DVD player can play all versions of DivX video (including DivX 6), and provide enhanced playback of advanced media features like interactive menus, subtitles, and alternate audio tracks supported by the DivX Media Format.

Load a disc or plug in a USB device that contains both MP3 music and JPEG picture data and the disc menu will appear on the TV monitor. Select and MP3 music track, then also select a JPEG picture file and you can watch the pictures on the screen while the music plays.

Users can discs recorded in the MP3 (audio), JPEG (images), DivX (video) and WMA (audio) formats.

This versatile unit is designed to play almost any kind of DVD and CD format/disc, including: DVD-Video, Audio CD, Video CD (VCD), Super Video CD (SVCD), DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, DVD-RW VR with CPRM, DVD+R, DVD+R DL, DVD+RW and CD-R/RW.

This player makes operation extremely simple by displaying a variety of clearly understandable GUI menus right on the TV or monitor screen. It's easy to select and adjust any desired function with the remote control.

Users can view CDs with pictures, both Picture CD and JPEG types. Convenient functions make it easy to zoom, rotate, flip and scan the pictures.

The Multiple Zoom function lets you vary the size of the image in six steps: 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2x, 3x and 4x.

Two modes can be selected for optimum viewing on widescreen monitors via HDMI: Superwide and Pillar Box. Superwide helps minimize distortion with a 4:3 picture by trimming the top and bottom to make it closer to 16:9 (except with 480p/576p resolution).

In addition to having a similar appearance, the DVD-S661 is designed for easy operation with Yamaha AV receivers that have the SCENE, such as the RX-V661. A Remote Power On function can be used by connecting the Remote Input of the DVDS661 to the Remote Output of the RX-V661. Playback of an inserted DVD can be started simply by pushing the SCENE button on the receiver.
