Martin+Tarnrot LG RH389H: ... RH389H is a DVD-recorder with built-in HDD. The menus and set-up is easy and straight forward. The image quality both for the native 4:3 TV-format and the upscaled image to 16:9 would be good enough for most normal users. The Time-slip function, which enables you to skip over the commersial breaks is easy to handle. The HDD-recording is easy and produces good quality playback. It is not possible to watch one TV-p...

... Overview ~ As I am a massive film and TV lover I had to buy myself a DVD recorder which would do an all-round job of recording movies and TV shows which I enjoy on a regular basis. ~ Price ~ This little recorder will set you back around £240 including deliver (tends to be around £10 if you order online which I did). I bought my DVD Recorder from Amazon for £237. ~ Strengths & Weaknesses ~ This little beauty has lots of features to delight any technology enthusiast. After using the recorder (using the manual of course) I found it quite easy to navigate around the menus and settings screens and changing the configuration to what I needed was quite easy. It is ve...

... technology racing along with the speed of a three legged donkey with piles it won t be long before the humble VHS Video Cassette recorder will become as obsolete as Beta-max, taking its place in the history books. Unfortunately, durin...

... LG dvd recorder has some very nice features including built in freeview, ilink for camcorder transfer, hdmi upscale and usb port. The ability to play divx is great although I think the usb port is limited to reading 1gb memory sticks which is a bit limiting. The quality of the hdmi upscaling is great and nice and sharp with defined colours as it upscales a picture including the freeview to 1080p. The recording settings on the dvd side are nice at XP, SP, LP, EP, MLP which offers a lot of choice. I would stick to SP though as that gives the best recording quality/time. The LG is a well designed dvd recorder and looks good, it also has a good range of inputs/outputs ...
