Good features for the price.
Easy to install. Be aware of the fact that it takes a while to boot, as any other DVD recorders DIVX compatible.
Cheapy looking display (LED based), with only the basic indicators.
As far as I have noticed, the HDD runs all the time when the device is on, so it doesn't have a feature which would stop the HDD spinning after a set period of time.
The timeshift buffer is apparently on the HDD, not in a RAM memory (I am not sure if there is any manufacturer producing a similar device with the buffer on a SDRAM memory instead of HDD).
It can't write on DL DVDs, but I personally don't usually use the DL ones, so to me this is not big inconvenience.
It doesn't have a HDD defrag feature, but it has the HDD initialisation feature all the time (other manufactureres, as Pioneer, have this option active only if there is an error detected on the HDD.
The DVD reader has a good quality, I would say about 98% if I compare with the quality of a Pioneer.
It can not be connected to a PC, but no problem with this, as long as it can write on DVD-RW media.
Nice and easy to use menu, which is a "see through" type :). Size wise is pretty slim for a HDD DVD recorder, but it would have been better to have the depth a little bit smaller.
Very good quality tuner. Very good recording quality. Also, the time shifting works well, and you won't see any difference on the TV between the real time view and the the time shifted view. If I compare this unit with a similar one (different brand) which is double the price, the only missing options would be the DL DVD and DVD-RAM support, the HDD defragmentation missing, a not so nice looking display, and the missing USB connectivity to a PC. Overall a good device in a low price range. Not sure about the reliability, as I haven't used it for too long (we'll see in one year time).
