The 3-in-1 recorder permits '6-way' dubbing without connecting to external devices - HDD-DVD, DVD-MiniDV, and HDD-MiniDV. The unit incorporates JVC advanced technologies to deliver high-quality pictures in recording, editing, dubbing, and playback. The Super MPEG Encode Pre- and Post-Processors deliver high-quality, PAL-progressive pictures even with long-time recordings. JVC's advanced technologies allow you to edit HDD recorded pictures exactly the way you want, and when dubbed to DVD, the edited parts won't freeze in mid-play - a typical side effect of editing MPEG-2 pictures with a conventional recorder. For dubbing from HDD to DVD, JVC-developed 'Bit-Rate Optimiser' ensures the highest-possible picture quality while fitting the entire content on a DVD's 4.7GB space. If you go for speed, the unit permits maximum 64x High-Speed Dubbing from HDD to DVD. The DR-DX5 Series also features Simultaneous Recording/Playback and Navigation System with Animated Thumbnails for easy access to recorded programs.
