Advantages: Great price, Does everything what other expensive models do and more.

Disadvantages: No hard disk on this model, I didn't want a hard disk some are noisy and loads of cheap disks around

Got this little beauty at last, has all the top tricks features built in and ready to go.

Set-up was easy following the supplied 80-page instruction manual (yes 80 internal pages very easy to follow) connected equipment: TV-Freeview Digital-DVDR

I read all the reviews from other sources and was a little uncertain with some of the reviews here, I needn’t have worried, setting up was a doddle with clear concise instructions, lots of pictures which even a small child could understand. The bods who put this manual together really thought about the end user (nice touch).

Turn on the power with all the of your equipment connected and with the on-screen menus set it up, the best built-in TV tuner I've seen so far, (the tuner was even more fussier than my pretty expensive Philips TV at getting the picture tuning just right, even after the very precise auto search you can still fine tune it to perfection.

After playing around for about an hour getting familiar with all the buttons and menus I decided to do some test recording. There are 5 different recording lengths (HQ)=1 hour, (SP)= 2 hours, (LP)= 3 hours, (EP)= 4 hours and (SLP)= 6 hours. I tried 7 different types of media disks and all the lengths with no problems at all. In fairness the only sign of degradation in quality was SLP mode, which I can only describe as long play done on a VCR, other than that all good quality smooth sharp recordings from UHF TV and Digital Freeview.

This is my 3rd DVD recorder and the best I've owned so far, previous two Philips and Panasonic but this Liteon LVW-5115GHC+ licks my more expensive models into fits in all departments.

I do a lot of PC DVD/CDR burning in many formats DVD/DIVX/XVID/AVI/MPEG and tried loads of my earlier projects in the player, all in sync all played, just before I rote this review I also connected my video camera via the front line-in jacks and recorded direct from it also fantastic results. (What more could I ask for BRILL)

Up to now (toes and fingers crossed) I am very pleased with my purchase, the low price of this Liteon LVW-5115GHC+ should not be confused by the quality, this really is a nice piece of kit, well built, looks stylish and does the job exemplary and well worth this review.

Summary: Does the job with flying colours and much more!
