Panasonic DMR-EX769 ... Panasonic DMR-EX769 is in essence an updated DMR-EX768; the main features are, as before, DVD recording, 160GB Hard Drive, Freeview tuner, 1008 upscaling and multi-format. So what is different? Well, for a start, something Panasonic call " Intelligent Auto Standby"; means that it automatically goes into a power save mode when you go back to watching TV. A "Quick Start" function will turn this unit on/off when TV is turned on/off but only if you are using it with a compatible Panasonic TV with 2009 Viera Link. The net result being that my expectations were high and, wait for it, I was definitely not disappointed! UPSCALING This bit of great looking kit enhances your DVDs and digital recordings to HD like images. As I had purchased a Panasonic Plasma Screen TV over a year ago this upscaling was the main motivation for getting the DMR.
