Panasonic Diga DMR-E85HEG-K ... Panasonic E85 is a cracking DVD-Recorder. I m pretty sure the more modern and up to date versions from Panasonic are just as good. The Panasonic comes with an 80GB hard drive that can record around 30 hours at a good quality rate, top is about half as much. You can record directly to hard drive or two DVD discs. The panasonic can write on DVD-R and DVD-RAM discs. The RAM discs are a particularly robust format and it s a useful addition to have on the recorder. They can be written to 100,000 times apparently. Even then DVD players seem to be very quickly becoming ancient and then new way of recording straight onto hard drives seems to be the way it is heading but for now I have a great recordable DVD player that serves my very basic needs of recording my favourite show s and watching film s I buy and rent. I have had a few DVD players in the past but must say the Panasonic recorder I bought 6 months ago has to be the best of all those I have owned. The big difference between one s I have already owned and this one is that I can record onto DVD discs and watch back my favourite programmes allowing me to ditch the VHS I had to keep running ... Panasonic recorders have always been amongst the best, and for around £150 you wont get better than this for a straight forward DVDR. This recorder will allow you to record roughly 8 hours worth of high quality video. It has PAL progressive scan to give you a better playback quality. It now comes with a DV input to make it much easier for connecting your camcorder to, making your life a lot easier when transferring your home videos to a DVD.
