Advantages: Can Adjust Disc Time
Disadvantages: No Internal Hard Drive
This recorable DVD player is very good. As a dvd player it is very easy to use - put the DVD in and press Play.
As a recordable dvd player it is also quite good. It doesn't have a hard drive so recordable DVD discs are required. It will accept DVD R+/RW+/-R/-RW so you can't really go wrong with which disc you put in.
When recording it does give you the option of the quality you wish to record at, depending on how much you want to record (e.g. for 8hours disc time the quality of recording isn't as good as 2hours disc time). Even though the picture isn't as clear, it is still very good and doesn't bother me in anyway.
My current set up is designed so that it can record Sky. However, when I do record something from Sky, I can only then watch something on Freeview whilst I record (or I could just not watch TV at all!). I also have an additional DVD player (came with my surround sound) so I could watch a DVD instead. This could be considered a disadvantage, having to watch what is being recorded unless other options are available. The only time you might have an issue is when recording something from Freeview and not being able to watch anything else. However, as you can see from my set up, I don't have this problem.
It would be nice if this had an internal hard drive, but using discs isn't the worst thing in the world and therefore as a recordable DVD player this is very good.
Summary: Very Good For Using Recordable DVD Discs
