I had this item for over a week before I had to return it. This was my 1st experience with DVD recorders and Toshiba in general and it wasn't any good at all. Firstly it takes over two minutes for the player to recognize what sort of disc has been inserted before it turns off and decides to keep the disc inside unless you open the cover and slid the tray out to retrieve it. Once the player does recognize the disc it takes another minute to actually start playing the disc.
